A delegation of Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce (NVCC) led by Ashwin Mehadia, President met Ram Joshi, Additional Commissioner of NMC and requested him to grant permission to reopen restaurants and eateries in city. Mehadia said, for the last four months restaurants and eateries are closed. The Government has given permission to all other traders to open during unlock phase-1 and 2. “Restaurants and eateries should also be given permission to reopen on the same lines,” He said.

He said, “Thousands of people are directly earning their bread and butter through the business of eateries, and the number multiplies with those indirectly attached to them. The statuary expenses for the last four month are unbearable for the restaurant owners, apart from their own family expenses. Restaurant owners have incurred a huge financial loss during the lockdown period.”

Om Hansle, President of Nagpur Eateries Owners Association assured that the eateries owners will strictly follow the COVID-19 protocol while operating like physical distancing, use of senitisers, temperature checking of customers before allowing them to enter. Ramavtar Totla, Secretary of NVCC insisted to give permission to restaurants and eateries to open with COVID-19 guidelines. Present were Sachin Puniyani, Treasurer, Swapnil Ahirkar and Shabbar Shakir, both joint secretaries of Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce, Cyrus Chang, Vice-President of Nagpur Eateries Owners Association and Amit Bembi, Secretary.
