Narayani makes right moves

COMMONWEALTH Chess champion and ISF World Schools Chess runner-up Narayani Adane of Bhavan’s Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir, Srikrishna Nagar girl, who made right moves on the 64-square board, did an encore in her exams. Narayani, an ideal combination of sports and academics, excelled in her class tenth CBSE by scoring 98.2 per cent marks.
 
She won Commonwealth Chess gold medal in Sri Lanka in 2016 and also won SGFI National chess gold by representing Maharashtra State thrice. This year in September, while in tenth, Narayani got selected to represent India in World Schools Federation ISF event held in Armenia. She stood runner-up and won silver medal for the nation. In year 2019-20 she played national and international chess championships and also emerged with outstanding achievements in CBSE exams.
 
Narayani attributes her success in sports and academics to her tutors like Anup Deshmukh, Gurprit Singh Maras, Katdare and Panbude. She acknowledges guidance from her Principal Nirupama Shankar and all the teachers.
