Roads of colonies in Kolar Nagar have turned into accident spots due to water-logging issues. The problem is worst in Lalita Nagar, Sarvdham Colony, Khijikjeda etc. Special drive to rectify roads has been started by the Bhopal Municipal Corporation and target is to finish construction of roads by July last. Water-logging issues are very common in the colony.

Inspite of repeated complaints only rescue operations are being carried out but problem is not resolved, claimed Neha Kulkarni, one of the residents of the colony. But now, an overlooked and unfinished sewage network has added to the problems in an area already plagued by decrepit houses and bumpy roads. Broken pipes, choked sewage chambers and scum gurgling over dug-out drains form the network that runs alongside drinking water pipelines.

Besides, the garbage taken out from the drainage is not disposed properly and is been laying beside nullah. Even during pre-monsoon rains itself these garbage and debris would flow back to the nullah and would result in water-logging. Rampant encroachment done over the drainage system in many parts of the city is leading to water-logging.
