Baghel gives consent to take charge as CGOA Prez

CGOA election, scheduled to be held on July 25, now remains a formality as list of candidates finalised for the fresh four-year tenure from 2020-24 is out
 
 
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has reportedly given his consent to take the charge of President, Chhattisgarh Olympic Association (CGOA), for the period of four years from 2020 to 2024, said sources in the CGOA. After the withdrawal of nominations on Sunday, candidates in fray for the CGOA elections, scheduled to be held on July 25, are being considered as the final for fresh four-year tenure, added the sources.
 
The elections are now be a formality just to announce the names of the candidates elected unopposed to the sports body. Similarly, Gurucharan Singh Hora, who was the lone contender, would be the general secretary of the CGOA. Out of total 17 candidates filed their nomination for the post of CGOA Vice-President, 10 were shortlisted. They are Devendra Yadav, Vinod Chandrakar, Vijay Agrawal (Durg), Bashir Ahmed Khan, G S Bambra, Sharad Shukla, Kailash Murarka, Akhil Dhagat, Gajraj Pagaria and Dr A Farista. Similarly, eleven contenders had filed nominations for six posts of joint secretaries in the CGOA. After withdrawal of the names, six names were finalized.
 
They are Engg N R Parashar, Manish Shrivastav, Dr Vishnu Kumar Shrivastav, Arun Kumar Dwivedi, Abhijeet Mishra and Vijay Kumar Agrawal (Raipur). Chhattisgarh Hockey President Md Firoz Ansari and Shahee Ram Jakhar were finalised for the post of treasurer. Those who were finalized for the 12 post of executive members are Kamal Jeet Arora, Dr Alok Dubey, V R Channawar, R K Shrivastav, Thakur Anand Mohan Singh, Ayaz Ahmed Khan, Peeyush Bhatia, Anil Pusadkar, Jagannath Yadav, Javed Ahmed Khan, Rajesh Janghel and Shiv Prasad Kapse.For the first time, associate vice presidents have been added to the list.
 
They are Atal Shrivastav, Anwar Dhebar, Arun Singhania, Thakur Ajay Singh and Prince Bhatia. Similarly, associate joint secretaries are Manoj Kumar Agrawal, D Kondalah, R Rajendran and Ashish Yadav. Associate executive members are Jitendra Tiwari, D S Christopher, R K Sahani and Kumar Yogesh. The special invitee members are MLA Kuldeep Juneja, IAS Sonmoni Borah, IPS Sanjay Pillai, IPS Arif Shaikh Husen, Girish Dewangan, senior journalist Himanshu Dwivedi, Waqf Board Senior vice president Salam Rizvi, Senior Vice-President Faizal Rizvi, Arjuna Awardee Rajendra Prasad, Arjun Awardee Shaba Anjum, Dinesh Kumar Goyal, Girish Agrawal and Avtar Juneja.
