The success of ‘Sunday Viraam has been largely atytributed to cops who could be seen on their toes to check unnecessary movement of people. The police bandobast for ‘Sunday Viraam’ forced people to remain at home. With the start of Roko Toko Abhiyan, cops are shouldering more responsibility to tighten noose around people defying the preventive step during working days.

According to information, the Sunday Viraam imposed by district administration was successful largely due to strict enforcement by cops. Barring some incidents of people attempting to violate restrictions, the lockdown was by and large successful.

On Sunday, cops took position at various locations and intercepted people seeking information on the purpose of their movement. Throughout the day, cops were seen discharging their responsibilities.Superintendent of Police Siddharth Bahuguna, responding to a query by ‘The Hitavada’ said that cops have been discharging duties very peristently. The success of ‘Sunday Viraam’ is due to support from people. People who defy magistrate’s orders have been imposed fines.”
