After the Government announced complete lockdown on Sunday, residents remained indoors leaving the streets deserted. While medical shops and hospitals were open under emergency services, ration, dairies, fruits, vegetable vendors kept their shop closed voluntarily. From Saturday evening, people collected daily needs from shops to follow lockdown orders completely. Police team too focused on creating awareness on people and motivating them to stay indoors. Besides, maids were not allowed to step out of home as a part of social distancing to stop spread of COVID-19.

“Madam asked me to come for work on Sunday but police team was continuously patrolling in my area. Police is penalising Rs 100 challan for stepping out of house. So, we stayed at home and did not go to work,” said Madhuri, a maid. City roads, markets, shops, bus stand, railway station wore a deserted look and very few vehicles seen on roads.

The curfew ended at 10 pm but even after that very few people stepped out of their houses for necessary work. In Bhopal city, except for private vehicles vendors were not seen since morning. It was almost curfew like situation. In most of the areas people cooperated with police team and did not venture out.
