Who will be the next MLA of Congress to join Bharatiya Janata Party is the question which has become a common discussion point among people and in the corridors of power. Ruling BJP claim that it’s doors are open for anyone who intend to join hints that some more big political developments are in the offing. When 24 MLAs resigned enmass which led to collapse of Kamal Nath government, Congress thought that worst is over for it and now only genuine party workers and leaders are with it. But its anticipation was proved wrong when MLA Pradhyuman Singh Lodhi resigned and joined BJP a few days back. Barely a few days have passed away after Lodhi’s resignation, another Congress MLA from Nepa Nagar, Sumitra Devi resigned to join the BJP. So far, 26 Congress MLAs resigned to join BJP.

Buzz is this that Congress may witness some more brain drain as couple of more elected representatives are having soft corner for the ruling BJP. Out of 230 Assembly seats, BJP is currently having 107 seats. In by-elections, to be held on 26 seats as of now, BJP needs victory on minimum 9 Assembly seats to save its Government. Victory on rest of the seats will only strengthen its popularity.

BJP Spokesman Rahul Kothari told ‘The Hitavada’ that Congress is a sinking ship and it is caving in from Bengal till Rajasthan. Another BJP Spokesman Rajnish Agrawal told to ‘The Hitavada’ that out of 24 MLAs which first left Congress to join BJP were mostly first timers and mostly of them hailed from scheduled caste and OBC. They see no future in the Congress. “Now such is the situation that Congress itself is not sure that it will not witness any more desertion by its MLAs,” he quipped.
