Ministers should draft roadmap to revive State’s economy: CM

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that in view of COVID-19 pandemic, all departments will play an important role in reviving economic prosperity and bringing back the economy on track. For this, it is necessary that every minister should discuss and make a draft of the role of his department in Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh.
 
According to this roadmap, the monthly, quarterly and half-yearly targets should be worked out. Ministers should also conduct departmental review. This review is to be conducted in the month of July itself. Even after this, a review will be conducted every month. Presiding over Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, CM said that in order to give shape to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mantra and his call for ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, the ministers should make efforts to implement them at the departmental level. For this, discussions can be held with scholars, experts and leading organisations.
 
The role of the department should be deemed important after receiving their suggestions. He said that on July 22 and 23, he himself will hold one-to-one discussion with the ministers. He added that that it is important to celebrate Independence Day on August 15, in presence of limited persons. The national flag should be hoisted in offices while maintaining social distance. The tradition of inviting children and including them in the programme should be postponed this year.
 
 
Closely monitor departments: CM to ministers Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the ministers must keep a close watch on the activities of their department. Any information related to the department from any source, should be probed in depth by the minister. If a wrong fact is also published in the newspaper, then counter it. The minister should constantly keep an eye on the constraints of implementation of departmental schemes. CM was addressing the Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday. He instructed ministers to conduct departmental review this month. He will also review the departments in August. During the Cabinet meeting he informed that the campaign against criminal elements will continue. In any case, those accused of misdeeds will not be forgiven. In this connection, he directed to dismiss Excise Sub Inspector Pankaj Jain, a Government servant posted in Ujjain, who is accused of raping a minor.
