Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University, (NDVSU) Vice-Chancellor Dr Sita Prasad Tiwari conducted inspection of livestock cluster, Amanala for selection of site for establishment of three Gau Shalas on Wednesday. Around 100 cows will be sheltered in every Gaushala. During inspection, it was informed that after selection of the site, Gaushala structures will be established with development of grasslands through MGNREGA while vacant land at Saraswahi in Hinauta will be used for plantation under MGNREGA.
 
Projects will be developed in collaboration of NDVSU, Jila Panchayat and Madhya Pradesh Veterinary Services. Abandoned cows in Amanala, Sundarpur, Saraswahi and Hinauta villages and stray cattle will be given shelter at Gau Shala for better care. According to the vision and targets of the university, Gau Shalas will not only prove beneficial for academics, research and extension services but also ensure availability of organic manure and materials for Panchgavya Project.
 
Gau Shala project will also give pace to specie upgradation of Gauvansh through advanced techniques of embryo transplantation project to achieve targets of protecting indigenous cows. On the occasion, Dr Vinod Bajpai, Registrar, Dr A K Gaur, IPRO, Dr A P Singh, Director Bio Technology, A K Singh, Executive Engineer, Dr A P Gautam, Joint Director, Dr Sunil Kumar Bajpai, Deputy Director, Dr Rajendra Kurmy, Deputy Director, Dr Pravan Singh, Veterinary Services and others were present.
