“Total 51 new COVID-19 patients were detected and 48 patients were discharged from isolation wards in last 24 hours till 6 pm on Friday. Number of COVID-19 cases reached to 950 while total 630 patients were cured and 296 active cases have been reported in the district,” informed Collector Bharat Yadav.
 
Numbers of containment zones increased to 29 with the notification of two new containment zones at behind Aalam Atishbaji, Miloniganj in Pandit Govind Vallabh Pant Ward-26 and Om Durga Mandir Wali Gully, Belbagh Kanjar Mohalla in Maharshi Arvind Ward-52.
 
He informed that social organisations are conducting public awareness activities to encourage residents for following COVID-19 protocol through street plays and other measures. He appealed the residents to stay inside their homes and taking precautionary measures during two days lock down from 7 pm on July 24 to 5 am on July 27. Excise department has also been directed for ensuing closure of liquor shops during the lockdown period.
 
During the Roko Toko Abhiyan, total 279 persons were punished with financial penalty amounting to more that Rs. 2.28 lakhs for not using facemask and overlooking social distancing.
 
According to complete lockdown order, exempting the Central and State Government Departments, PSU and private offices and institutions engaged in essential services, all the other offices and institutions will be operated with 50 percent employees’ strength. Government Offices will work with full strength. Revenue departments will work with full strength till any unavoidable circumstances. In case of violation of prohibitory orders, action will be taken against offender Under Sections 51 and 60 of Disaster Management Act 2005 and Section 188 of IPC.
