Lockdown returns for ten
In the wake of alarming spike in COVID-19 cases, a 10-day lockdown will be enforced in the State capital from Saturday. District Collector Avinash Lavania has issued orders under Section 144 and a lockdown has been imposed in revenue boundaries of Bhopal district from 8 pm onwards on July 24 untill 5 am on August 4.
 
According to the restrictive order, no person will be allowed to come out of house. Similarly, local transport will remain banned and no person will be allowed to leave or enter the district boundaries. The citizens are informed that they should leave home only for urgent services and for grocery items they can go to nearest Sanchi Parlours while following social distancing norms. People going to near supply stores to purchase ration or other essential will not need any kind of pass and that no action will be taken against person concerned on giving satisfactory answer.No separate permission or pass will be required for the activities and transportation exempted from this order. One needs to keep a valid ID proof with oneself. A 6-feet distance has to be followed mandatorily and that all preventive measures to control the crowd should be taken. All the SDMs, executive magistrates, cops, ward-wise administrative mobile units and rapid response teams will keep a vigil on the compliance of social distancing norms at the shops.
Exemptions and restrictions
In the view of prevalence of COVID-19 situation in Bhopal, a 10-day lockdown has been imposed to contain the coronavirus. According to the district administration officials this lockdown will be a stern as compared to the previous ones.
 
Nearly 2,500 cops will be deployed at different spots to keep a check on the movement of the citizens.
Restrictions: Markets, banks, religious shrines, private buses, taxi, auto rickshaws, schools, colleges, coaching institutes, cinema halls, gymnasiums, swimming pools, parks, auditorium, assembly halls, hotels, restaurants,
shopping malls will remain closed. All private offices barring the emergency services will remain closed for 10 days. Construction activities in the urban area will be restricted.
 
Exemptions: Those involved in emergency services will remain totally exempted during the lockdown but will have to carry their ID cards with them. Passengers of trains and flights will not be troubled on the roads. Labourers and staffers of industries being operated in Mandideep will not require any pass. The PDS shops can distribute ration to limited people in the presence of zone nodal office. Petrol pumps and LPG gas services will also remain exempted. Newspaper and milk will distribute from 6:30 am to 9:30 am.
 
Offices exempted under lockdown: Offices related to emergency services, including revenue, health, police, electricity, telecommunication, BMC, disaster management, postal services, print and electronic media will not require any permission to open. Also, revenue earning offices will open with 30% staff and remaining government officials with operate with skeletal staff (10% capacity). State level offices like Mantralaya, Satpura Bhawan, Vindhyachal Bhawan will operate in accordance with the rules given by general administration department.
