Yet another ‘Sunday Viraam’ as per directives issued of Collector and District Magistrate Bharat Yadav met with good response from the public to break the corona chain. Reportedly on the second consecutive day of lockdown, streets across the city wore a deserted look. However on Sunday, people in some areas were found not following the protocol and this is likely to force the administration to enforce lockdown in specific areas. According to information, Sunday Viraam, after the Saturday lockdown, proved effective to restrict people. Attempts to violate the lockdown were dealt with stringent action by cops.
 
Only people wuth permission for essential services were seen moving about and were asked by cops to show authority. Collector Yadav, when contacted, expressed happiness with people’s support for Sunday Viraam. Referring to cases of violation from people in some areas defying the lockdown and also for improvisations for next spell of lockdown, said that people in some areas were still not following protocol. “We are also thinking of specific areas’ lockdown to make people understand the severity of the situation.” Collector Yadav has expressed gratitude for people’s support during the 58-hour ‘Viraam’ from July 24 evening a success,a press release issued here said.
 
According to information, with an aim to snap corona chain, the exemptions given in unlock phase 2 were put on hold from July 24 at 7 pm. The ‘viraam’ culminated on Monday at 5 am. The support offered by people belonging to various sections of society from Friday evening till Sunday late evening have been appreciated.
 
Collector Yadav hoped that in future lockdown, people would extend fullest support to break the COVID chain. Yadav has urged people to strictly adhere to preventive steps to contain spread of COVID-19 by ensuring use of face mask, social distancing and avoid moving out from homes unnecessarily. He also urged for frequent use of sanitisers and to wash hands with soaps at regular intervals of time.
