A committee has been constituted to ensure payment to dung sellers within 15 days 
 
Chief Secretary R P Mandal has directed officials to ensure payment to cattle breeders selling cow dung within 15 days of procurement of dung at gothans of the state. Chief Secretary Mandal held a meeting with the officials to review ‘Godhan Nyay Yojana’ at the office of Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society (CHiPS) here on Saturday. Mandal has directed the officials to ensure first instalment of payment to the dung sellers on August 5.
 
Additional Chief Secretary of Finance Department Amitabh Jain, Secretary of Agriculture Department M Geetha, Secretary of Co-operative Department Prasanna R, Registrar (Cooperative Institutions) Himshikhar Gupta and all bankers attended the meeting. A four-member committee headed by Additional Chief Secretary of Finance Department Amitabh Jain has been constituted by the Chief Secretary for ensuring payment to dung sellers within 15 days.
 
The other members of the committee are Principal Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development Department Gaurav Dwivedi, Secretary of Agriculture Department M Geetha and Secretary of Co-operative Department Prasanna R. All the four officers of the committee will contact district collectors for ensuring payment to dung sellers within stipulated time and monitor payment to the dung sellers. Payments of dung sellers will be directly transferred into their bank accounts, the Chief Secretary told the officers.
 
If bank account of dung sellers is not opened so far, processes should be initiated immediately to open bank account of the dung sellers, said the Chief Secretary. Mandal has directed the officers not to pay direct cash to the dung sellers and payment must be ensured into the bank accounts of the dung sellers according to the directives of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. The Chief Secretary warned that no laxity would be tolerated in delay of payment to the dung sellers.
