Customers thronged city markets and streets witnessed traffic jams while shops and showrooms remained busy on Monday since morning hours. Crowded streets in different market areas of the city reflected that people as well as shop-owners were not serious over the warnings about seriousness of epidemic spread. The ignorance towards social distancing and wearing face masks in market place also questioned the high claims of ensuring lockdown protocols in public by the administration.

On Monday, the market welcomed customers after two days of forced lockdown meant to curb the spread of pandemic coronavirus by district administration but also reflected that instructions given by the district administration to the representative of different markets and public announcements while monitoring compliance were missing as people thronged to market areas.

The administration had constituted a joint team comprising of different departments including Jabalpur Municipal Corporation, Police Department, district administration and other concerned departments to ensure proper implementation of orders seems missing from all sensitive points where the crowded streets received traffic jams repeated after short intervals. If the carelessness and ignorance towards conditional permissions given in Unlock phase 2 in the market remain, then the situation of corona spread would worsen with every passing day.
