A memorandum of demand was handed over to JMC Commissioner Anup Kumar Singh by a delegation of Engineering Students’ Organisation India (ESOI) headed by National President ESOI Praveen Singh against Bhupendra Singh Baghel posted as incharge in the Health Department. Baghel has been accused of having obtained employment by unfair means against the directives of the Apex Court.

According to information, a memorandum of demand to sack Baghel and start investigations in his alleged employment by unfair means and large scale corruption was submitted by the ESOI delegation in course of talks held with JMC Commissioner. It was stated that appointment of Baghel was termed illegal by the Apex Court in an order dated issues in 2013.

Consequently his cadre from present status was demoted to assistant engineer. In the year 2018, Lokayukta police also registered charges against Baghel for corruption in JDA. Since then permission to Lokayukta from municipal administration to prosecute Baghel was on hold. The delegation sought that the JMC must give permission to Lokayukta within 48 hours. The ESOI has demanded to suspend Baghel with immediate effect followed by investigation in corruption by him and recovery of government money from him.
