FOLLOWING the low-pressure system and monsoon trough running from Bihar to Odisha brings rainfall in the region including the city. After a long break the city once again received rainfall. Heavy showers lashed the city for half-an-hour gave much needed respite to the denizens from hot weather. For the last several days city has been witnessing hot and humid weather.
 
On Tuesday afternoon, weather conditions changed and city received heavy rain. Weather department has meanwhile forecast for rain and thundershowers in next 24 hours. Alike Jabalpur most of the areas in adjoining districts also receiving rains, which has swelled rivers. Water level of river Narmada also increased and district administration has sounded alert on river banks. Till Tuesday afternoon the city was facing hot and humid weather. But, conditions changed suddenly and the city received heavy rainfall. The changed climatic conditions have provided needed relief to the citizens.
 
The relative humidity on Monday morning was recorded to 81 per cent while in evening it lowers to 88 percent. Likewise, the minimum temperature was registered to 26.5 degree Celsius while in the evening it was recorded at 33.7 degree Celsius. Last year, the maximum temperature of the day was 30.4 degree Celsius while minimum temperature was 24.7 degree Celsius. Total rainfall of the season is 266.9 mm.
