Girls with pass percentage of 95.74 outshine boys with 91.35% in State
 
 
Nagpur Division has improved its score by 26.57% in Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination, the result of which was declared on Wednesday. Last year, SSC result in the division was 67.27%. This year Nagpur’s score is 93.84%. The examination was conducted by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE), informed Ravikant Deshpande, Chairman, Nagpur Divisional Board, while talking to ‘The Hitavada’. The division proved to be a laggard for consecutive last three years as it was placed at the bottom among nine boards in State.
 
 
Tanvi Wankhade of Anjangaon Surji stood probable Vidarbha topper with 99.6% marks (best of five subjects) while Samiksha Parate of J P English School (Convent), Nagpur scored 497 marks (99.4%). Himanshu Bokde with 92% marks and Vedika Gedam with 89.6% marks, both from Kurvey’s New Model High School, Nagpur, secured first and second position in visually impaired category. MSBSHSE had conducted SSC examination between March 3 and March 23. In Nagpur Division, a total of 1,62,664 students had registered for the examination.
 
Of them, total 1,61,338 appeared for the examination and 1,51,444 of them passed. The pass percentage for Nagpur Division is 93.84. As far as Amravati Division is concerned, it was at eighth position in the State last year. However, this time, its performance has gone up taking it to fifth position. The overall pass percentage of Amravati Division this year is 95.14. Among the six districts in Nagpur Division, Gondia again topped the chart with 95.22% per cent result and Wardha performed poorly as it registered 92.10 per cent result.
 
The overall result of Maharashtra is 95.03 per cent this year. Girls have outperformed boys. Among the students who appeared for the examination, pass percentage of boys in State is 93.90 while that of girls is 96.91. Amongst all nine divisions, Konkan topped the chart with pass percentage of 98.77, followed by Kolhapur with 97.64 per cent result, Pune with 97.34 per cent, Mumbai 96.72 per cent, Amravati with 95.14 per cent, Nagpur 93.84 per cent, Nashik 93.63 per cent, Latur 93.09 per cent, and Aurangabad remained at bottom with 92 per cent results. Students willing to go for retotaling, photocopies of answersheets, revaluation and migration will have to apply to respective Divisional Boards through http://verification.mh-ssc.ac.in.
 
The days have been fixed to procure the certificates. For re-totalling, students have to apply between Thursday July 30 and Saturday August 8; for answersheet photocopies interested are supposed to submit application between Thursday July 30 and Tuesday August 18. The fees can be deposited on-line through debit card, credit card, UPI, net banking. To get photocopies of answersheets, students have to submit application on-line on the official website of Board during five working days. They have to deposit the prescribed fees. Students interested to have revaluation should contact Divisional Board, concerned. The Board had started Class Improvement Scheme in the year 2008.This scheme was started with a purpose to give students a chance to improve their grades. Students who appeared in Summer-2020 will have a chance of appearing in two consecutive examinations. 
 
Average marks to students for cancelled Geography paper Due to coronavirus pandemic, Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) had cancelled the examination of Geography subject of SSC scheduled on March 23, 2020. The board contemplated over the awarding of the marks against Geography. Finally it was decided to award marks calculating average of the marks scored in other five subjects to every student.
