Students of civic schools excel in SSC exams

Students of civic schools excelled in the Secondary School Certification (SSC) examination. The results announced on Wednesday showed an increase of 35 per cent over last year’s passing percentage. The passing per centage of SSC students this year is 85.25 per cent and in 12 schools the score was 90 per cent and more showcasing that limitations did not limit the outcome. Jayanta Alone, a student of Durga Nagar Marathi Medium School has topped among NMC school students while Sameer Jambhulkar from Dattatray Nagar school was placed second with 93.8 per cent and Santosh Giri from Durga Mandir School was third with 90.80 per cent.
 
The pass per centage of Marathi schools was 92.25 per cent. From English medium school, students from G M Bantawala have excelled and Anshara Muniba has topped among them with 90.60 per cent, Tasmiya Kausar finished second with 83.60 per cent while Mohd. Mansuri bagged third spot with 76.8 per cent. The pass per centage of English medium school was 66.66%. In Hindi medium school the pass per centage is 80.79 per cent, that of Urdu medium 92.73 per cent.
 
Among handicapped student, Chetan Kakde form Dr Ambedkar Marathi medium school emerged the topper while Shivraj Sawle finished second. About 121 students of civic run schools have scored distinction while 389 students in first class. Meritorious students were felicitated at NMC Central Office in the evening. Vijay Zalke, Chairperson, Standing Committee, Tanaji Wanve, Leader of Opposition, Kishor Kumeriya, Group Leader, Shiv Sena, Prof Dilip Diwe, Chairperson, Education Committee, Pramod Tabhane, Deputy Chairperson, Dayashankar Tiwari, senior corporator, Additional Commissioner Ram Joshi, Deputy Commissioner Nirbhay Jain, Education Officer (NMC) Preeti Mishrikotkar, Asstt. Edn. Officer Kusum Chaflekar, Sports Officer Piyush Ambulkar were present.
