Good news for State as well as wildlife lovers on Global Tiger Day
 
 
Tigers’ population at Sanjay Dubri Tiger Reserve, Sidhi, has increased to 8 after the tigress T-21 spotted with two new cubs on Wednesday. This would be delighting for the wildlife lovers on International Tiger Day after the tigress has increased population of big cats in State. Earlier, there were six adult tigers and tigresses in the reserve.
 
The tigress T-21 has been sighted with the new cubs (about two months old) in camera recording. The reserve management has deployed additional team to monitor the tigress and cubs. As feline is very possessive for safety of cubs, security team could not go closer to them. Monitoring is being done from certain distance through camera.
 
The tigress was brought to the reserve from Bandhavgarh when she was one-year-old. Feline was abandoned by mother tigress at early age and then she was enclosed in a cage for safety purpose. The tigress T-21 was released in wild of Pauri jungle at one and half years of age. Forest officials said that Madhya Pradesh is celebrating the joy of having highest tigers in country. They said, however, the census was held during year 2018 and now in two years tigers population has been increased at faster pace. They said that though there is no official data but currently there would be about 435 tigers in State.
