The mountaineer who does not cease moving when he reaches the top of the mountain can go only in one direction downwards. Like the Sun at its glory, zenith can only descend. Under conditions of desire, enlightenment cannot be obtained as it cannot occur. Our life is an odyssey. We are always on our way into something or out of something. It is not aimless, chancy wandering. It is the movement of fire on a mountain which travels in an unrelenting pursuit of its own fuel, a search for its continuing existence! The person who serves the poor and the helpless is a favourite and son of God on Earth. Truth and priority is the greatest gift which God bestows on human beings.

That person attains true joy and happiness who gives solace and happiness to others. So do not let the heights you inhabit dizzy you. Be yourself and be the original self. Man has the natural gift for transcendence. There is something with him that leaps the limits of his mind and hurtles the boundary of his body. In a storyline, the villain has a definite identity of his own and a vital role in the mosaic of the storyline. The villain looks so funny resorting to his outrageous gimmicks to create laughter of the audience.

The hero of the story is never afraid of the villain, however powerful he may be. Every stage in life cherishes some illusions and applies a creative attitude towards reality to sustain the illusions. William Shakespeare said: “What a piece of work is man, how noble in reason and how infinite in faculty!” Ours is a world when people don’t know what they want and are willing to go through Hell to get it. By working 8 hours a day people want to become a boss and work 12 hours a day. Helen Keller the blind, deaf and mute heroine said that “One can never consent to creep when one feels an impulse to soar! We see that the sharp thorn often produces the delicate rose.

It is not hard to understand modern art. If it hangs on a wall, it is a painting and if we can walk around it is a sculpture. My teacher used to say: “A book which people praise and don’t read is a classic! To reform a man is tedious and uncertain labour but hanging a man is a sure work which snuffs out life and the talent along with it! Many people do good things in their lives that are not publicity applauded. We are all living in a wonderful time and our future is bright but it still depends on how well we meet the challenges that face us. It will take all the talents and leadership to achieve the quality of life all of us want for ourselves and the generations that come after us. We believe in finding fulfilment in family, for the family is the true centre of meaningful life.

All of us believe in serving God and trying to understand myth useful in providing comfort to troubled minds. There is indeed a law called success. It is not in the statute book or interpreted by law courts. It is an unwritten law evolved through experience. The World is round. We don’t know whether we are at the starting point or finishing line. Our teachers constantly mention that motivation is a will to act but is injected from outside. It leads to job satisfaction! An environment has to be created before motivating other people. It is difficult to motivate and help others without expecting a return or rewards. Know the potential of those and help them to realise their goals.

In the end we should say that we all together have done the job! Dr Verghese Kurian who created the Anand Milk Centre called AMUL said that we should do things on a large scale and acquire the necessary experience and skill. Always take others help but on your own terms. Be always clear as to what you want to achieve. Know the needs of others and figure out what you think they need. Always be a good listener and respect the consumer and client.

Never compromise on quality by maintaining quality control. Ensure that you and your team are energetic and committed. Lastly, honesty is the best policy as there is nothing beyond it! My teacher used to say: “The only limits are those you impose on yourself. Life is a game and play it like a game. Greet each day and be cheerful. There is no scoreboard in the race of life! By empowering others you don’t decrease your power. One candle can light a million candles and still can retain its light. Man attains completion, only when culture is added. Price of living is in giving!
