Reacting sharply to the demolition of replica of Teerathgarh water-falls and Gaurav Vatika clandestinely by the ruling Congress Government, former Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Brijmohan Agrawal has stated that the ruling Congress Government which has failed to do a constructive thing since it has came to power, has now started demolition of assets made for the use of people. The former Minister while raising question on demolition of Shantinagar Irrigation Colony for commercial usage of land, said this was an open space colony full of greenery and acts as lungs for the capital.

The ruling Congress is on the verge of destroying this green colony and create a concrete jungle at the cost of environment. The State Government is mulling the idea of handing over the land to Chhattisgarh Housing Board, which ironically is unable to sell over 10,000 ready houses in the capital. Agrawal further added that the State Government is yet to approve layout for commercial usage of Shantinagar project, even any work plan is yet to be devised, no budget has been allocated, no tendering process has been initiated, no arrangements has been made for relocating 383 families (Government employees) residing there, despite which the administration has initiated forcibly demolition that too in the darkness of the night. Agrawal alleged that carrying out demolition of the replica of Teerathgarh and the Gaurav garden in the midst of night, the administration is trying to create a fear of demolition among the people.

Also demolition of public property without any constructive reason amounts to misuse of public exchequer funds. He asked as to why both these creations were demolished and how it was creating any kind of hindrance in the construction of Shantinagar project. Terming that the both the State Government has lost control over administration and its officials, the former Minister said that the ruling Congress is destroying everything in the capital which has been built to give it a look of the capital and to beautify the city.
