As many as 1,84,000 gas survivors came under the scanner of the district administration during the two-day Kill Corona campaign. District Collector Avinash Lavania launched an exclusive survey for the victims of gas tragedy owing to their vulnerabilities and co-morbidities. As many as 111 have succumbed to the deadly contagion and the activists claim that of the total deaths, 60 per cent are the victims of the gas tragedy.
 
The activists had blamed the health department and the administration for their negligence towards those who were already vulnerable to the disease. Reacting to which, the administration launched a two-day special survey for those residing in the gas tragedy affected areas. 1,557 suspects found: Sampling was done on the basis of symptoms and according to the district administration officials, 1,557 suspects came to the fore.
 
These suspects include those showing the symptoms of COVID-19 including Influenza like Illness (ILI) and SARI (Severe Acute Respiratory Infection). Dengue, malaria patients tested: Along with survey for coronavirus, testing of dengue and malaria patients was also done through rapid test kits. Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Prabhakar Tiwari told ‘The Hitavada’ that dengue larvae were also tested in the localities affected by gas tragedy.
