Nagpur distt receives above normal rainfall till date

Most of the tehsils in the district received above normal rains so far 
 
The Southwest Monsoon this year made a good start in Nagpur district so far. After excess rainfall in June, the first week of July also experienced good amount of rains in the district. Till date Nagpur district received 116.9 per cent of rainfall to normal which is 16.9 per cent above normal. However, most of the Tehsils in Nagpur district including Nagpur City, Nagpur Rural, Kamptee, Parsheoni, Mauda, Katol, Narkhed, Saoner and Kalmeshwar experienced above normal rainfall. Remaining Tehsils like Hingna, Ramtek, Umred, Bhiwapur and Kuhi are have some rain deficit which will cope-up in near future.

Till date, Kamptee received the highest 393.7 mm rainfall which is 161.9 per cent to normal (61.9 % above normal). Nagpur city is the second in the list with 369.8 mm rainfall which is 152.8 per cent to normal (52.8%). Parsheoni is in the third position with 344.6 mm rainfall which is 147.6 per cent to normal (47.6 % above normal). Kamptee and Parsheoni Tehsils had rain deficits on July 7 in 2019 where as Nagpur city was experienced excess rains last year also. Similarly, Bhiwapur and Kuhi were the only Tehsils in the district which received excess rainfall on this date last year but this time both have rain deficit.
 
Kuhi and ?Bhiwapur both received excess in the month of June this year but the first week of July brought less rain in both Tehsils that reduced the percentage of rainfall so far. Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted more rains in Nagpur district in the second week of July which likely overcome the deficit of remaining Tehsils. In last three days, Nagpur district received good rains but on Tuesday the intensity reduced in all over Vidarbha.
 
On Tuesday, Gondia received the highest 54 mm rainfall while Nagpur is on second with 18.5 mm rainfall. Amravati (10 mm), Chandrapur (2 mm) and Gadchiroli (3.2 mm) also received light rains. Remaining parts of Vidarbha left dry on Tuesday. On Tuesday, the day temperature again increased in all over Vidarbha. Chandrapur registered the highest 6.7 degree Celsius hike in maximum temperature in just 24 hours. Gadchiroli recorded 6.2 degrees Celsius increase in maximum temperature in 24 hours while Amravati (4 degrees Celsius), Gondia (4.7 degrees Celsius), Wardha (4.5 degrees Celsius), Nagpur (4 degrees Celsius) and Washim (4 degrees Celsius) also recorded drastic hike in maximum temperature on Tuesday. The minimum temperature in most of the places of Vidarbha also recorded higher side by 1-2 degrees Celsius in just 24 hours.
