ABVP demands waiver in school fees

A delegation of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) members on Wednesday met District Education Officer (DEO) G R Chandrakar at his office in Raipur and submitted a memorandum demanding action against private schools asking for fees in this crisis situation. The ABVP members complained to the DEO that some private schools repeatedly asking parents for fees. The school managements are either calling them or sending messages demanding fees.
 
The ABVP members further said that schools buses and other infrastructures are not being used but schools still asking for fees. They demanded relaxation in fees for three months. They also demanded from the DEO to take action against schools harassing parents or else they would burn effigy of the school education minister at the DEO office and lock the office.
 
ABVP members present on the occasion were Vikas Mittal, Vibhor Thakur, Akash Sharma, Shekhar Jha, Rishabh Dubey, Ashish Sahu, Sudhanshu Pandey, Rajesh Barik, Lucky Tiwari, Mayank, Ankit and Shanu. It is also to be mentioned, some parents had reached the office of the DEO a week back with complaint against a reputed school of the city. The school had been demanding transportation fees from the parents even as students were not using the bus during lockdown period.
