Sitabuldi police book seven for duping bizmen of Rs 5.55 cr

Sitabuldi police booked seven persons for duping two businessmen brothers of Rs 5.55 crore. The fraudsters created bogus documents of properties and promised huge returns to the victims on the investments, officials said. The accused have been identified as Jahid Mirza Baig, a resident of New Colony, near Punam Chambers, Sadar; Gautam Singh, a resident of Jafar Nagar; Bunty Shailendra Shaw, Ashish Jain, Naim Khan, all residents of Nagpur; Prashant Satlakar, a resident near VCA stadium, Sadar; Sujeet Kumar, a resident of Jhingabai Takli; and Wakekar family, a resident of Shatabdi Chowk, Besa road, Nagpur.
 
According to police, complainant Sushil Ramesh Kolhe (29), a resident of Plot No. 108, Nimdevi Nagar, Wanjhara, Kamptee Road, Nagpur and his brother Pankaj Kolhe are the owners of a Digital Advertising company. They came in contact with the accused persons in year 2018. The accused allegedly told the complainants that they having properties near a Church, in front of Smruti Cinema Theatre; Checkers Hotel, near VCA Stadium, Sadar; a land near cremation ground in Jaripataka area and a property owned by Wakekar family near Shatabdi Chowk.
 
The accused allegedly told the complainants that they would secure huge profits on investment in these properties as they are going launch big residential and commercial schemes. They also fabricated documents of ownership right on the properties and showed it to the complainants to gain their confidence.
 
The complainants invested a total of Rs 5.55 crore in the properties. After not receiving a single penny as profit, Kolhe brothers approached the accused and asked them to return their invested money. Sushil Kolhe depressed over losing of money and consumed sleeping pills, police said. Kolhe brothers approached Sitabuldi police and lodged a complaint against the accused. After verifying investment documents, Sitabuldi police registered a case under Sections 420, 466, 468, 467, 471 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. Further investigation is on.
