Limaye and Shinde shared their valuable experiences with the budding players and coaches 
 
THE six-day MahaBasket Webinar, organised by various district basketball associations of Maharashtra, concluded the other day. In the concluding session, two International players from Maharashtra — Shiv Chhatrapati Awardees Shireen Limaye and Siddhant Shinde — exchanged their thoughts with budding players, coaches and parents.
 
Both the players answered questions asked by budding players like Siya Deodhar, Shomira Bidaye, Arnav Reddy, Manasi More, Gayatri, Devanshu Deshmukh and coaches Aniruddha Birajdar, Ramesh Dhotre, Suhas Bahirat, Ganesh Tupe, Rakesh Maheshwari, Rahul Dhone. Limaye shared her experience which she gained while playing for the Indian team at various international events. She spoke on her mental status and rehabilitation process after suffering a knee ligament injury while she was representing the country. Limaye also mentioned how she recovered and worked hard on rehabilitation and performed better in her next international tournaments. Shinde too shared his past experiences when he had to travel 15 kms daily for practice sessions by bus. He told the budding players that there is no alternative to hard work. He quoted “Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard. ”
 
Both Limaye and Shinde urged the upcoming players to give equal importance to their studies. They said despite being an international player one must at least complete graduation to fetch a descent job. K Govindaraj, President of Basketball Federation of India gave the opening remarks. He congratulated and appreciated the efforts of MahaBasket for organising this Webinar. He also praised the efforts put in by the representatives of various district basketball associations in Maharashtra for conducting the Webinar. Secretary General of BFI, Chandar Mukhi Sharma, too congratulated the organisers and participants and further extended all support in the future events of MahaBasket. Earlier, Jayant Deshmukh introduced the players while Dr Dhananjay Welukar made concluding remarks and proposed a vote of thanks. Coordinator of MahaBasket Shatrughna Gokhale conducted the proceedings. Dr Amit Tembhurne and Dr Praveen Kumar supervised the technical aspect of the Webinar.
