UMESH Dinkarrao Panbude emerged sole leader at the end of Round 4 of the 7th Kamal Kumar Barat Memorial Online Classical Chess Tournament on Wednesday. Winning all his four games, Panbude was right at the top with four points in the online meet organised by Nagpur District Chess Association for players above 45 years.
 
With three wins and a draw, Vijay Thakur was just half a point behind at the lone second spot. After keeping his slate clean on opening day, Panbude got the better of Dilip Chepte in the third round and Umesh Lalwani in the fourth. Playing with black, Panbude defeated Lalwani to garner full point. TS Patil and Ramachandran Iyer with three wins and three points each were occupying third and fourth places at end of second day of the meet.
 
Patil was the only other player with Panbude to enter the fourth round with three points but Patil was beaten by Thakur on the second board. Fifth and sixth rounds will be played on Thursday. The event is being played through lichess.org platform.
