A power company employee was critically injured after sustaining electric shock of 11,000 volt and falling down from tall electricity pole in Punjab Bank Colony late in the night on Saturday. According to Madhya Pradesh Vidyut Mandal Takneeki Karmachari Sangh, employee Rajesh Soni posted as helper was assigned by Junior Engineer of Vijay Nagar Division for repairing DO fuse of 11 KV line of power transformer.
 
As per the direction, helper Rajesh Soni repaired the fuse on electricity pole and was coming down from the pole when he sustained electric shock and fell down on the ground. In the incident, Rajesh Soni sustained critical burn injuries on his face, chest, hands and legs. Injured employee was immediately rushed at Mohanlal Hargovind Das Hospital by other employees where his condition is reported to be critical undergoing treatment at burn ward.
 
Takneeki Karmchari Sangh’s members Harendra Shrivastava, JK Kostha, Ajay Kashyap, Shashi Upadhyay, Mohan Dubey, Rajkumar Saini and others extended appeal towards company administration for ordering inquiry into the incident and taking stern action against officers and employees responsible for switching on electricity supply during maintenance work. They have also raised demand for providing best medical facilities and financial assistance to the family of injured employee.
