United Malayalee Association, a prominent socio-cultural organisation of the city, celebrated the festival of Onam without any common function and gathering of the people due to COVID-19. Most of the activities were held online and people participated from home. A floral rangoli (Athapoov) competition was organised where many people participated from their home.
 
Similarly, a contest of having most traditional onam fest at home was organised. Mahabali in whose memory Onam is celebrated, arrived in different parts of Bhopal visiting people in their homes and people accepted blessings. This is a different experience as every year people used to go to a function to see Mahabali but this time Maahabali came to visit people to their homes. People welcomed Mahabali at their places and felt blessed by his presence. Mahabali surprised everybody by visiting the upper lake VIP road and gave blessings to the passersby by waiving his hands keeping the social distance.
 
He also distributed food packets to the slum children in Gautam Nagar area. Members also visited Protem Sepaker Rameshwar Sharma.
