The State capital’s fight against COVID-19 begins with learning to wear masks properly. The lockdown will notably end in Bhopal on Tuesday and now it is the duty of citizens to act ‘Aatmanirbhar’ and protect them from the disease. The good news is that people are doing their part to slow the spread of coronavirus but the bad news remains that many of them are wearing their masks wrongly. Pulmonologist in Hamidia Hospital Dr Parag Sharma says, “There’s a right way and plenty of wrong ways to use face masks to help fight the spread of coronavirus and a lot of people are on the wrong track.”“One of the biggest mistakes people make is that they fidget with their masks, and pull them under their noses or completely off their faces to rest under their chins,” Dr Sharma added. Dos and Don’ts of wearing a mask: Dr Sharma told ‘The Hitavada’ a few Dos and Don’ts of wearing a mask.

Don’ts:-
Push your mask under your chin to rest on your neck.

Wear the mask below your nose.

Wear wet masks.

Touch outer surface of your mask.

Throw away masks after use.

Dos:-

Wear your mask so it comes all the way up, close to the bridge
of your nose, and all the way down under your chin. Do your
best to tighten the loops or ties so it’s snug around your face, without gaps.
