Bond of siblings ‘Raksha Bandhan’ was celebrated in city with enthusiasm amid lockdown. For the first time, sisters virtually tied homemade Rakhi to their brothers. This year people virtually tied rakhi to their sibling on mobile applications. Gifts were also rewarded to the sisters via mobile applications like Google App, Paytm, BHIM, etc. As sweet shops were closed due to the pandemic lockdown, sisters offered chocolate to their brothers after tying Rakhi.

However, many people were seen plying on roads with family to visit their sisters and brother home to celebrate the festival. Neha Yadav, resident Ashoka Garden said, “for the first time I have tied Raki to my brother on Zoom app. My brother also rewarded me gift on Google pay.

As lockdown is imposed in city, we preferred to stay at home during the festival too.” Senior citizens also celebrated the festival virtually and asked their sibling to stay home for safety purpose. Raksha Bandhan is widely celebrated festival of North India. On the day, sisters tie Rakhi to their brother and in exchange brother reward gift to sister. This festival is basically bond of love among siblings.
