Three office-bearers of Bharatiya Apanga Co-op Society arrested

The accused trio had duped a man of Rs 54 lakh
 
 
Unit No. 5 of Crime Branch of Nagpur police arrested three absconding office-bearers of Bharatiya Apanga Co-operative Society for duping a man to the tune of Rs 54 lakh on pretext of sanctioning a loan. Arrested accused have been identified as General Manager of the Society Faiz Moin Sheikh (50), his wife Nasrin Khan (42), both residents of Narsala; and Rizwana Ishaque Khan (38), a resident of Hasanbagh. Police Inspector of the Unit Vinod Patil informed ‘The Hitavada’ that the accused were arrested on Friday night and produced in the court. The court remanded the accused trio to the police custody till August 6, he said and added that the accused are being interrogated thoroughly. Remaining accused will be arrested soon, he said.
 
It may be mentioned that Tehsil police had booked 11 office-bearers of the society in February this year for duping a man to the tune of Rs 54 lakh on pretext of sanctioning a loan. Along with the three accused, the police had also booked Nirmala Shalik Sheikh, Directors Arun Mahadeo Ingole, Rajendra Laxman Deogade, Sheikh Aslam Abbas, Sheikh Zahir Abdul, Tulsi Hingankar, Meena Laxman Dorle and Pravin Raut. They are still absconding.
 
According to police, the accused had promised loan through their society to the complainant Satyanarayan Bankatalal Malu (65), a resident of 1186, Radha Niwas, Bhawasar Chowk in October 2018. LAter, they grabbed Rs 54 lakh sanction as loan to the complainant. When the accused failed to disburse the loan, Malu realised the fraud and approached police. Tehsil police had registered a case under Sections 406, 409, 420, 120 (b) and 34 of the Indian Penal Code against the accused persons.
