Collectors authorised to take decision on extension of lockdown in districts

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel held a meeting with his cabinet ministers at Chief Minister’s official residence on Wednesday to review corona crisis situation in Chhattisgarh. The lockdown period will end on Thursday in several districts including Raipur where lockdown was re imposed after the spiralling of the corona cases. The corona crisis situation was discussed in detail in the meeting. Health Minister T S Singhdeo, Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu, Cabinet Ministers Ravindra Choubey, Mohammad Akbar, Dr Shiv Kumar Dahariya, Guru Rudra Kumar, Amarjeet Bhagat, Dr Premsai Singh Tekam, Kawasi Lakhma, Anila Bhedia, Chief Secretary R P Mandal, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Subrat Sahoo and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
 
Talking to mediapersons after the meeting, Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey said that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel discussed the corona situation in State with the cabinet ministers. Several important decisions have been taken in the meeting. The State Government has authorised the district collectors to take decision on extension of lockdown period in the districts where corona cases are spiking. The collectors will take final decision for reopening of shops in the districts, he added. Choubey said that the officials of the Tourism Department gave a detailed presentation on ‘Ram Van Gaman Path’.
 
The State Government has decided to construct a grand temple of Lord Ram’s mother Kaushalya at Chandrakhuri and construction of the temple will begin soon. The Ram Van Gaman Path will be developed as tourist spot. Besides, it has been decided to plant saplings along both sides of the Ram Gaman Path, Choubey added. Replying to a query on laying foundation stone for Ram temple in Ayodhya, Ravindra Choubey said that it is a matter of joy that Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid foundation stone for the Ram temple at Ayodhya.
