A team of Special Tiger Protection Force (STPF) No. 2, Kolitmara, busted a racket transporting teakwood using a government ambulance of Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC), Navegaon Khairi. The officials have nabbed a doctor couple in this connection. Acting on a tip-off, a team of STPF at Pench Tiger Project Nagpur intensified surveillance in Wanera village.
 
The team grew suspicious on an ambulance (MH-31/7353) and stopped it for checking. The officials discovered seven teakwood boards in the ambulance. The doctors, who were present in the ambulance, failed to answer the questions of the officials.
 
They were taken into custody for interrogation and the ambulance with teak wood was seized. A Forest official said that, the doctors were smuggling the teakwood in the ambulance. The action was taken by Forest Range officers Ankita Naresh Telang, Vijay Kadam, Forest Inspectors S M Wasnik, J V Bedre.
