SOCIAL worker Basant Agrawal celebrated the auspicious occasion of bhoomipujan of Ram Janmabhoomi temple at Ayodhya by performing religious rituals and aarti of the photo of Ram Darbar at Sheetala Mandir in front of Machli Talaab, Gudhiyari here on Wednesday. Residents of the locality along with Basant Agrawal decorated the area by hoisting the Saffron (Bhagwa) flag and lighting of ‘Diyas’ in the area.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Basant Agrawal said that all Indians across the world waited for 500 years for construction of the Ram temple, which will be realised with the construction of the temple for which bhoomipujan was performed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the temple site in Ayodhya on Wednesday. He also paid rich tributes to all devotees (karsewaks) who laid down their lives fore today’s auspicious occasion. He further said that the rituals and celebrations at Ramjanmbhoomi site would have been on a grand scale with lavish religious congregations.
 
However, Indians living across the world and in the country celebrated the great occasion as ‘Deepotsav’. The families of Gudhiyari area in Raipur also lighted diyas in their residences and performed rituals to celebrate the auspicious occasion. Apart from Basant Agrawal, the residents from Gudhiyari area including Saligram Dewangan, Manish Sharma, Golu Sharma, Vikas Sethis, Nivesh Sharma, Swamiji, Akhilendra, Mahendra Sharma, Irshad and Raja were present.
