COVID-19: DRM office to remain closed for 3 days

For next three-days, the office of Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), South East Central Railway, Nagpur Division, will remain closed to enable through sanitisation of entire building in aftermath of spike in COVID-19 cases among employees. Confirming the development, Y H Rathod, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Infrastructure), talking to The Hitavada said technically only one day office would remain closed, that is on Friday, while on Saturday and Sunday are already holidays.
 
So technically for three days the office building having nearly 500 plus staff would remain closed. Additionally he also confirmed that first floor at DRM office building was sealed today for purpose of sanitisation. The first floor houses, offices of Engineering, Personnel and Accounts. About five patients, mostly from engineering branch had tested positive for coronavirus and employees got panicked. Taking note of the newspaper reports, DRM ordered closure of first floor and entire staff was told to remain at home while administration ensured spraying of disinfectant.
 
Meanwhile, now Operating Control staff has expressed concern over rising cases in their section. Two among them tested positive for the virus and the Controllers have asked for some safety measures like rest for staff who was in proximity of positive patients and through sanitisation of Boards manned by them during every shift change. They have apprised their concerns to DRM through their letter demanding stardardisation of sanitisation practices as they reported that there is unease among them as branch head are not receptive to their ideas.
 
Today two employees from Operating Control tested positive and Controllers have said in such situation entire staff on duty be tested to rule out spread of infection among others. Also home quarantine aspect should be given thought so that transmission chain could be broken, the employees said further.
