The district administration razed the illegally constructed house of history-sheeter Mukhtar Malik, who was arrested a day before, in Bhopal on Wednesday. The property was spread on about 2000 sq feet positioned in the premises of Ahata Rustam Khan in Shyamla Hills area.
The two-storey house was occupied by Mukhtar’s wife Shiva Malik and was an illegal construction, said Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM city circle) Jameel Khan. Khan told ‘The Hitavada’ that heavy police force was deployed during the demolition drive to avoid and thwart any untoward situation. “The house was razed using JCB machines and cutters and the action continued till 6 pm,” he added.The infamous crook Malik, who was wanted in different cases, was arrested on Tuesday by Bhopal Crime Branch Police from a Dhaba.
Mukhtar’s wife and ex-corporator creates ruckus: As the team of district administration and of BMC arrived to begin the action, wife of Mukhtar, Shiva Malik created ruckus. Later, she was taken into police custody and was removed from the scene of action with the help of lady constables, said SDM Jameel Khan. About an hour later, an ex-corporator and Congress leader Shabista Zaki reached the place to protest against the action. He was also taken into police custody and sent to Shyamla Hills Police Station. Zaki alleged that the action was unconstitutional as a case was being heard in the court regarding a dispute over this house.
