24 cattle grazers take part in ‘Charwaha Sammelan’ held at Kanha Tiger Reserve

Forest officers and cattle grazers gathered at Kanha Tiger Reserve in Mandla on Thursday.

A ‘Charwaha Sammelan’ (gathering of cattle gazers) was held at the Kanha Tiger Reserve in Mandla district on Thursday. Twenty-four cattle grazers of 13 villages gathered at the Sammelan held at Khatiya forest area of Kanha Tiger Reserve.
The forest officers told the Charwahas to inform the nearest beat guard in case of criminal activities, including poaching, illegal harvesting, fire and encroachment, in forest areas. An appeal was made to the Charwahas to help the forest department in saving the flora and fauna. The Charwahas were told about the methods to avoid criminal activities in the forest area through a power point presentation.
