Highest single-day spike of 2,240 corona cases in 24 hours was reported in Madhya Pradesh on Friday. With this the total tally of infections rose to 83,866. Thirty more casualties raised the death toll in State to 1,691.
Out of those who succumbed six were from Indore, five from Gwalior, Bhopal recorded four fatalities and two each were reported from Jabalpur, Sagar, Vidisha, Shahdol and Harda. Meanwhile, one patient succumbed each in Shivpuri, Ratlam, Dhar, Damoh and also from Narsinghpur.
Total 1,651 coronavirus patients were discharged from hospitals, taking the number of recovered cases in the State to 62,936. There are now 18,992 active cases in Madhya Pradesh.
Indore recorded maximum cases (326) in the state and the tally of infections here has reached 16,090 of which 444 people have died. 247 people tested positive for coronavirus in Bhopal on Friday taking the corona count to 13,564 and 321 people have succumbed to the infection here. Ujjain has recorded 83 deaths and 2,146 positive cases, Burhanpur recorded 608 while Neemuch has 1,496 positive cases.
Madhya Pradesh’s coronavirus figures are as follows: Total cases 83,866, active cases 18,992, new cases 2,240, total deaths 1,691, discharged 62,936, number of people tested so far 16,35,070.
