UNBEATEN overnight sole leader Ramchandra Iyer continued from where he left on Saturday and maintained his winning run to emerge victorious in the fourth edition of District-Level Online Rapid Chess Tournament that concluded on Sunday.
 
In the two-day eight-round tournament that was organised through lichess.org platform, Iyer garnered full eight points to emerge clear winner. Second placed Sumedh Ramteke (6.5) was way behind the champion. Aditya Bodkhe (6) took the third spot. Iyer, who won all the four matches on Saturday, defeated young and upcoming Jay Sawalakhe (5.5) in the eighth and last round on the top board.
 
On way to the title, Iyer defeated Mayank Ranade, VK Shrivastav, Shyamsundar Borkar, Harsh Nachankar, Raunak Godbole, Sumedh Ramteke and Arush Chitre. Players of Nagpur district only were eligible to participate in Rs 3000 prize money competition. The tournament was conducted under the supervision of IA Swapnil Bansod, IA Pravin Pantawane and FA Umesh Panbude.
