Municipal Commr designates 40 more facilities as Dedicated COVID Hospitals

Radhakrishnan B, Municipal Commissioner, has designated 40 more private hospitals as Dedicated COVID Hospitals (DCH). He issued an order in this regard on Wednesday. With this, the total number of DCH in Nagpur city has increased to 102. Earlier, 62 private hospitals were designated as DCH. Initially, COVID-19 patients were treated at Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH) and Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) only. Later on, as the case-load of COVID-19 increased in the city, some private hospitals were allowed to treat the patients.
 
As the number of cases increased further, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) administration designated some private hospitals as DCH. However, in the past few weeks, the number of COVID-19 patients continued increasing. Sandip Joshi, Mayor, had called a meeting with office-bearers of Indian Medical Association and Vidarbha Hospitals Association on Tuesday, as the availability of hospitals beds emerged as an issue. In the meeting, Mayor had asked the civic administration to designate more private hospitals as DCH. Accordingly, Radhakrishnan B issued the order on Wednesday, designating 40 more private hospitals as DCH.
 
These include: Perfect Health Super Multispeciality Hospital, Nucleus Mother and Child Super Speciality Hospital, Nelson Mother and Child Care Hospital, Chaudhary Hospital, Shri Krishna Hrudayalaya and Critical Care Centre, Dr K G Deshpande Memorial Centre for Open Heart Surgery, Medicare Multispeciality Hospital, Niramay Hospital, Central India Cardiology Hospital and Research Institute, Borkar Multispeciality Hospital, Tamasakar Clinic, Lotus Hospital and Research Centre and Maternity Home, Safal Hospital, Prestige Hospital, G T Padole Hospital, Khalatakar Hospital, Shravan Hospital and Kidney Institute, Rahate Surgical Hospital, Green City Hospital and Nursing Home, Mukherjee Multispeciality Hospital, RNH Hospital Pvt Ltd, Aditya Hospital Critical Care and Emergency Centre, Khobragade Child Trust Hospital and Intensive Care Institute, Arogyam Super Speciality Hospital, Colours Children Hospital, Zenith Hospital, Tarangan Surgical Hospital, Surelife Hospital and Research Institute, Elixir Metro City Hospital and Critical Care Centre, Abhiyog Spine and Joint Replacement Centre and Maternity Home, Kubde Hospital and Research Centre, Gencure Hospital, S S Multispeciality Hospital, Gracious Institute of Medical Sciences, Metro Multispeciality Hospital, Apulki Vairagade Hospital, Shanti Mohan Hospital, Swastik Critical Care, Indrayani Speciality Hospital, and Grace Hospital. 
 
NMC requisitions Central Rly facility as COVID Hospital Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has requisitioned Central Railway Hospital for treatment of COVID-19 patients. Radhakrishnan B, Municipal Commissioner, issued an order in this regard on Wednesday. In the order, the Municipal Commissioner quoted direction issued by the Nagpur Bench of Mumbai High Court on Tuesday. Additional Municipal Commissioner and team assisting him visited and inspected the Central Railway Hospital and held discussion with available medical persons. As it was found suitable to start COVID Hospital, the Municipal Commissioner issued the order requisitioning the Central Railway Hospital for treatment of COVID-19 patients. The hospital has been requisitioned ‘with all existing manpower and their services, infrastructure, all machineries, premises’.
