Former BJP MLA from Surki Assembly seat (Sagar) Parul Sahu joined the Congress in presence of former Chief Minister Kamal Nath on Friday. This came as a big jolt to the BJP just before the by-elections. Parul Sahu said joining Congress is like home return for her. Parul Sahu’s decision to join Congress may create hindrance before Minister Govind Singh Rajput who is likely to contest election from Surki Assembly seat.

“Today I have returned to my home and I am very happy about it, said Parul Sahu after joining Congress. Kamal Nath said he is happy that by seeing the present picture of State, identifying the truth, Parul Sahu joined the Congress. Her family has been associated with the Congress and today it is like homecoming for her. Accusing BJP of doing politics of misguiding people, Kamal Nath said that upcoming by-elections will decide future of the State. The result of by-elections will secure future of the State. Today the State is known in the country for sell off politics.

“I feel ashamed when the State is known for sell off politics,” he said. Without naming Jyotiraditya Scindia, he said BJP should understand clearly that a few leaders might have been sold out but BJP cannot purchase honest voters of the State. BJP has played with the Constitution and democracy. People will decide the fate now.

Notably, Parul Sahu had earlier contested Assembly elections from Surki Assembly seat on BJP ticket and defeated Congress candidate Govind Singh Rajput. Now political equations have reversed after Parul Sahu joining the Congress and Govind Singh Rajput joining BJP following high political drama which resulted into collapse of Kamal Nath Government.
