Maharashtra Police witnessed a major reshuffle in its top echelons with over 46 senior Indian Police Service (IPS) and State Police Service (SPS) officers being transferred. Of them, two Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) rank officers are transferred to Nagpur as Additional Commissioner of Police (Addl CP). The transfer orders were issued on late Thursday night by State Home Department. As per the orders, Sunil Phulari and Naveenchandra Reddy, DIG State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), have been transferred as Addl Commissioner of Police Nagpur. Reddy will take the charge of North Region of Nagpur city. Phulari is the native of Nagpur city. His father Baliram Phulari was retired as Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).
 
Deputy Commissioner of Police (HQ) Amravati City, Prashant Holkar, has been transferred as Superintendent of Police (SP) Wardha district, while SP Bhandara Arvind Salwe shifted as SP Chandrapur. SP Holkar had earlier served as Commandant SRPF Nagpur with additional charge of Government Railway Police (GRP) Nagpur. Vasant Jadhav (SPS), DCP Quick Response Team (QRT) Mumbai will be the new SP Bhandara district. SP GRP Vishwa Pansare (SPS) will take over as SP Gondia district.
 
SP Buldhana D K Bhujbal-Patil has been assigned the job of SP Yavatmal district. Ankit Goyal, DCP Zone 10 Mumbai Police will replace Shailesh Balkawde as SP Gadchiroli. Balkawde will take the charge of SP Kolhapur district. Nikhil Pingale Commandant SRPF Group XIII Nagpur has also been transferred as SP Latur district. Pune CP Dr K Vyankatesham has been transferred as Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Special Operations. Amitabh Gupta, Principal Secretary in Home Department has been appointed as Pune CP. Special IGP Brijesh Singh, who was awaiting for the posting for last six months, has been appointed as Spl IGP Administration Maharashtra Police, while DIG Manoj Kumar Sharma has been transferred to Maharashtra State Security Corporation. It may be mentioned that the police transfers, usually done in May every year, were delayed this year due to Covid-19 pandemic.
