Madhya Pradesh three sports academies have been selected under Khelo India. Now, training for players from different places of the country will be given in Madhya Pradesh Shooting Academy, Rowing and Hockey Academy respectively.

 

Sports Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia told that it is a big achievement as three sports academies have been selected under Khelo India. She informed that work is being done on different parameters of sports in Madhya Pradesh.

At present, high performance training is being given to sportspersons as well as trainers with the help of modern sports science and technology.

 

Madhya Pradesh is committed to give high quality training and facilities to players. Along with Madhya Pradesh, six other states including Assam, Dadar and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Maharashtra, Meghalaya and Sikkim have been identified for top sports facilities.

 

In the entire nation, 1,000 Khelo India centres will be established. Under Khelo India Scheme, Khelo India Small centres scheme is being started. This is being done with a view of development of sports and its promotion at ground level. In them, 14 sports of Olympic, archery, athletics, boxing, badminton, cycling, fencing, hockey, judo, shooting, swimming, weightlifting have been included.
