Ahead of the final year/semester examinations to be held next month, Higher and Technical Education Department of State Government has issued directions for full attendance of teaching and non-teaching of non-agricultural universities, affiliated colleges, deemed universities, and self-financed universities in Maharashtra. The administrative and other office work was being done in presence of limited number of staff so far due to COVID-19 situation.

As per the recent Supreme Court directives, the final year/semester examinations are to be conducted in the State. Accordingly, the examinations are scheduled to be held between October 1 and October 31. The results are to be declared in the first week of November. As per the Government Resolution (GR) issued by Higher and Technical Education Department on Friday, the examination-related work like preparing question papers, checking answer-sheets, preparing marksheets, announcing results, revaluation etc will require manpower in teaching and non-teaching categories both.

As the exam and related processes are to be completed in a short period of time, 100 per cent attendance of teaching and non-teaching staff is necessary, stated the GR signed by Pravinkumar Pawar, Desk Officer, Higher and Technical Education Department.

However, while doing so, the administrative authorities of the respective universities, colleges have been asked to ensure that the Government guidelines regarding containing the spread of COVID-19 are followed properly. The said GR has been circulated to Vice-Chancellors of all the non-agricultural universities, affiliated colleges, deemed universities, and self-financed universities in the State.
