For enforcing lockdown in true sense, Raipur Police will be installing as many as 28 checkpoints across the district that will be functioning round the clock. “In around 19 checkpoints within the city and nine points on bordering areas of the district will be working round the clock during the lockdown. Besides, several other measures are being taken to ensure strict compliance of the lockdown,” said Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Lakhan Patle, adding that as a precautionary measure, the police checkpoints will be regularly sanitised.

Patle further informed that the nine checkpoints that will be installed in rural and bordering areas of the city are going to prevent entry and exit from the city during lockdown. Along with strong posse of police personnel across the city, around 40 patrolling teams, three Quick Response Teams (QRTs) and two Anti Demonstration Squads (ADSs) will be deployed into the task of complying lockdown guidelines.

Moreover, 15 Gazetted Officers (GOs) have been assigned with the task to closely monitor the situation. Calling on people not to step out unnecessarily, ASP Patle said that anyone found loitering outside unnecessarily will face legal action. Spreading the message that unnecessary venturing out during the lockdown will be dealt with iron hand, a flag-march was taken out by Raipur Police on Monday covering almost all the areas in the city.
