MAHARASHTRA Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and Guardian Minister Dr Nitin Raut inaugurated the Nagpur Police COVID Hospital at Police Head quarters, Takli through video conferencing on Monday. Both the ministers appreciated the efforts of Nagpur City Police in ensuring proper treatment to the Corona warriors in the police force working round-the-clock to prevent the spread of pandemic.
 
Through video conferencing Maharashtra Director General of Police S K Jaiswal also appreciated the timely initiative of the newly-appointed City Police Chief Amitesh Kumar. Presiding over the inaugural function, Commissioner of Police Kumar assured proper treatment to police personnel and their families who contracted with the coronavirus. Joint CP Nilesh Bharne, Special IGP (Nagpur Range) Cheeranjeev Prasad, Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishna B, Joint Commissioner of Police Nilesh Bharne, SP (Nagpur Rural) Rakesh Ola, Deans of medical colleges and others were prominently present on the occasion.
 
The hospital exclusively meant for police personnel tested COVID-19 positive has eight oxygenated beds, eight semi-ICU beds without monitors, oximeters, digital thermometers, air-conditioners, television sets, CCTV cameras on beds, communication facilities through public address system, live Yoga telecast and motivational speeches for all patients, physiotherapists, walk-in facilities for police families, four ICU ambulances with doctors and two ambulances would be available round-the-clock, free mess facilities for patients, medical and free residential facilities for doctors and their team.
 
The hospital has a tie up with pathology laboratories, radiologists for CT scan, with proper treatment for cardiologists, gynaecologists, neurologists, endocrinologists and dietitian. All other necessary facilities have been created for COVID patients. Later, DCP (Headquarters & Detection) Gajanan Rajname proposed a vote of thanks. All senior officers, who were present on the occasion appealed to all police personnel and their families to strictly adhere to the COVID-19 rules.
