Schools reopen with only 25% students’ attendance in city

After six months of school closure due to COVID-19 pandemic, the schools were reopened on Monday for the students of classes 9 to 12 on voluntary basis. In State capital, around 25 per cent of attendance was registered in the schools following the COVID-19 safety protocol and Unlock 4.0 guidelines. Government schools witnessed more number of students than the private schools. DEO Nitin Saxena told ‘The Hitavada’ “Around 25 per cent attendance was registered on the first day of reopening of schools in the city amid COVID-19 safety protocols.
 
Government schools witnessed more number of students attending doubt clearing sessions than the private schools. Students visited schools with non objection certificate (NOC). Social distancing was maintained in the classes and precautionary measures against the pandemic were taken care of in schools.”The school was held for two hours from 11 am to 1 pm. Some of the schools had their departure at 2 pm. All 50 per cent staff attended the schools on the first day.
 
Doubt clearing session was held in the classes where the students who had any doubts got cleared it from their respective subject teachers. The schools are reopened now only for doubt clearing session for the higher classes’ students. The students will not be kept throughout the working hours viewing the pandemic.
