The categorisation of scheduled castes reservations should be done under A, B, C, D castes and Matang or similar sub-castes should be given reservation on the basis of population. The Maharashtra Government has the right to prepare lists of sub categories.
 
As per the order of five judges of Supreme Court on August 27, 2020, the Government should categorise the scheduled castes lists as the Chief Justice has directed the matter to constitutional bench and sought the decision. The Government should categorise the reservations and solve the issue of Matang community, demanded Lahu Sena members. A delegation of members of Lahu Sena led by Sanjay Kathale met former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and handed over the memorandum of demands to him.
 
The other demands include CBI inquiry of officials in BARTI and Samtadoot employees; establishment of Annabhau Sathe Research and Training Institution for the educational development of Matang community; immediate implementation of Krantiveer Lahuji Salve Matang Study Commission; restarting Lok Shahir Annabhau Sathe Development Corporation by giving funds of Rs 1,000 crore; Bharat Ratna for Annabhau Sathe, etc. The delegation included, Javed Pathan, Jeevan Gaikwad, Balya Khadse, Javed Pathan, Harsha Kamble, Deepak Gaikwad, Rajesh Sontake, Shiv Taiwade and Raju Sorgile.
