City Kotwali police arrested three miscreants for selling banned medicines at a passenger waiting hall in Kumarpara. Police also recovered 720 capsules of a banned medicine worth Rs 4455 from the accused. As per police sources, the accused have been identified as Diwakar Deewan a resident of Haat Kachora, Kishore Das and Naveen Jha, both are residents of Ganga Nagar ward Geedam road. According to information, City Kotwali police received a tip-off that three people sell banned medicines at passenger waiting hall at Madiya Chowk in Kumarpara.
 
Acting upon the tip-off, a team of City Kotwali police raided the waiting hall and arrested all the three accused after cordoning off the area. During interrogation, the accused identified themselves as Kishore Das, Naveen Jha and Diwakar Deewan. The police also seized 720 capsules of a banned medicine worth Rs 4455 from the accused. Till the last report, all the three accused were arrested under Section 21 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and were sent on judicial remand. SI Piyush Baghel, ASI Vinayak Singh Thakur, Constable Gayatri Prasad Tara and Ved Prakash Bablu were part of the action.
